We follow a simple but vital premise in the User Experience group: "Focus on the user and all else will follow." We're passionately interested in our users and strive to learn everything we can about their behaviors, attitudes and emotions to help define the products and experiences we create. The User Experience team is a critical driving force behind gathering these insights and then using them to inspire and inform design. We are a multi-disciplinary team of interaction designers, visual designers, user researchers, copywriters and Web developers who collaborate closely with each other and with engineering and product management to create innovative, usable, great-looking products that people love to use.
At Google, innovation and creativity keeps our projects changing and improving. Our consistency comes from our Googlers – smart, amazing people who foster an environment of collaboration and fun.
Simplicity starts with the design of a product's fundamental functions. We don't set out to create feature-rich products; our best designs include only the features that people need to accomplish their goals.
Google works to discover people's actual needs, including needs they can't always articulate. Armed with that information, we strive to solve real-world problems and spark the creativity of all kinds of people. We focus on improving people's lives, not just easing step-by-step tasks.
The User Experience team researches the fundamental differences in user experiences throughout the world and works to design the right products for each audience, device, and culture.
