Project Description

For libraries, digital technologies are threat and opportunity at the same time. “The Library Compass” is a navigation-assisting service that helps library users to search, find and connect. The service connects users and librarians with contextual information based on location and user data.

This bridges the gap between digital and traditional media through iBeacon-localization and a smartphone app. Its modular components allows stepwise implementation of digitally-enhanced services like mobile book search, curated indoor-guides, eBook-links and social functions.

The Library Compass simplifies tasks, saves time, enriches the user experience and potentially builds a local platform of knowledge.
