May I enter more than one project?

Yes. You can submit up to 5 entries with each entry form.

What are the entry fees?

Basic entry fee for Award Submissions is structured according to geography and professional/student status. The fee structure is guided by the widely accepted International Monetary Fund classification. Check the list of countries by region here. All prices are in USD.

Early Bird Entry (1 Sep 2021 – 17 Oct 2021
) for Region 1 Countries:

  • Enterprise (>10,000 employees): $250 per submission
  • In-house/Agency: $99 per submission
  • Indie/Non-profit: $39 per submission
  • Student entry fee: Students may enter their projects for free

Early Bird Entry (1 Sep 2021 – 17 Oct 2021
) for Region 2 Countries:

  • Enterprise (>10,000 employees): $250 per submission
  • In-house/Agency: $49 per submission
  • Indie/Non-profit: $25 per submission
  • Student entry fee: Students may enter their projects for free

Regular Entry (18 Oct 2021 – 2 Jan 2022) for Region 1 Countries:

  • Enterprise (>10,000 employees): $320 per submission
  • In-house/Agency: $119 per submission
  • Indie/Non-profit: $49 per submission
  • Student entry fee: $29 per submission

Regular Entry (18 Oct 2021 – 2 Jan 2022) for Region 2 Countries:

  • Enterprise (>10,000 employees): $320 per submission
  • In-house/Agency: $79 per submission
  • Indie/Non-profit: $29 per submission
  • Student entry fee: $15 per submission

Late Entry (3 Jan 2022 – 15 Jan 2022
) for Region 1 Countries:

  • Enterprise (>10,000 employees): $390 per submission
  • In-house/Agency: $149 per submission
  • Indie/Non-profit: $59 per submission
  • Student entry fee: $35 per submission

Late Entry (1 Nov 2021 – 14 Nov 2021
) for Region 2 Countries:

  • Enterprise (>10,000 employees): $390 per submission
  • In-house/Agency: $99 per submission
  • Indie/Non-profit: $35 per submission
  • Student entry fee: $18 per submission

This fee covers submission of original work by you or your organization that you have the right or authority to submit for review. Payment per entry is submitted via credit card. Entry fees are per project.

What credit cards do you accept?

We accept: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and PayPal.

Need an invoice? Please email us directly at awards@ixda.org with your company name, address, and entry title.

Who can enter the Awards?

Projects that have been completed on or after 1 January 2019 are eligible. Please read our criteria around eligibility on our About page.

May I return to edit my entry before I've paid?

Yes. You may go back to the entry form’s fields any time after you begin filling out the form and have provided your email address.

May I edit the entry form after I submit it?

Yes. You may add to, edit, or delete your entry until submissions close at 11:59 PM (Pacific Time) on 15 January 2022.

Will I receive a confirmation of payment?

Yes. Your submission confirmation will be sent via email and will include your payment details.

How do I submit my entry?

We are using Submittable, an online contest software, to manage all entries.

  1. Create an account to fill out the submission form (you’re welcome to save drafts until you’re ready to submit).
  2. Fill in payment details.
  3. Submit your amazing work by 15 January 2022 at 11:59 PM (Pacific Time).

May I submit a non-English project?

Yes!

As a global community, we want to see work from all over the world. We are currently English-standardized in IxDA, so we do ask that, where possible, you provide English subtitles or translation. We recommend DeepL as a free translation service. If for any reason you are unable to provide a translation, please get in touch at awards@ixda.org and we will explore other options to accommodate.

When is the deadline?

We need to have your work by the Late Entry deadline, of 11:59 PM (Pacific Time) on 15 January 2022.

This is non-negotiable as the peer review process begins shortly thereafter.

 

When will the finalists be announced?

Shortlisted entries will be announced in February 2022. 

Finalists will be announced in March 2022.

Winners will be announced at the Interaction Awards Ceremony in April 2022.

What Awards will I be considered for?

Entries will be considered for the following awards:

  • Connecting – Facilitating communication between people and communities
  • Disrupting – Re-imagining existing systems via new behaviors, usages, or markets
  • Empowering – Helping people to do things they otherwise couldn’t do
  • Engaging – Capturing attention, creating delight and delivering meaning
  • Expressing –  Enabling self expression and/or creativity
  • Optimizing – Making daily activities more efficient

Three additional awards will be given:

  • People’s Choice
  • Future Voice Award
  • Best in Show
Can my submission be considered for multiple categories?

A single submission may be considered for up to two categories. The Jury will determine the best category fit for submissions, based on the recommendations of Peer Reviewers.

What do winners receive?

Shortlisted candidates receive:

  • Shortlist certificates and digital badging 
  • Project listing on the Interaction Awards website 

Finalists receive additional perks:

  • Finalist certificates and digital badging
  • Mention of finalists at the Interaction Awards ceremony
  • A free registration to the Interaction 22 conference
  • Complimentary invites to the Award Ceremony so the full finalist team may attend
  • Media promotion

Winners receive additional perks:

  • Winner certificates and digital badging
  • Announcement of winner at the Interaction Awards ceremony
  • Winner’s trophy
  • Additional media promotion
  • Spotlight interview of the winning team

Winning, finalist and short listed work work is added to a living library of the practice that allows people to discover the best work and uncover trends, insights, and talent that defines excellence. These examples of excellence are featured throughout the year on IxDA online channels, social media, and case studies that celebrate designers and their processes.
