Tax is a give-and-take system that binds our society together as humans by providing infrastructures and services that we all rely on. However, tax touchpoints are often designed for the system rather than the user – the processes and traceability around tax, as well as how it contributes to our shared spaces and society can often feel complex, opaque, or invisible to the individual. Could we reimagine our relationship with it? And how might our connected environments offer new ways for us to interact with them?

The HP Live UI: App-Assisted Printer Setup is the UX design for an app assisted and guided set-up experience for HP printers as part of the larger HP Smart App. The app-assisted printer setup instructions were developed to guide users, step-by-step, in loading paper, installing ink, and additional tasks by utilizing detailed 2D animations and translated instructions—a big improvement over printed instructions which only provide static illustrations. This new UX provides a robust instructional experience, eliminating ambiguity and potential frustration for users during printer setup. It also presents the OS-detected language, so users don't have to search for their particular text translation.

As more and more people were streaming content on their mobile devices HBO approached HUGE to plan and bring to market a suite of applications that would allow users access to the complete library of acclaimed HBO content through an interface that delivered the feel of the HBO experience. HBO had previously developed HBO GO as an on demand service that existed solely on HBOGO.com. HUGE's development of the HBO GO app aimed to harness the vibrant content of HBO to deliver a truly unique and seamless digital experience on the iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and Android.HBO GO was developed to provide an ideal place for current HBO subscribers to not only view, but become fully immersed in, HBO's selection of programming. By expanding their platform, HBO Go would give more value to HBO subscribers while also creating a compelling product that could attract new subscribers.

The world’s cities are facing explosive growth. Over the next 30 years, cities will grow by 2+ billion people. This requires building higher, denser and faster than before — while also providing high living quality and sustainable urban environments. Achieving this is a global challenge, recognized by the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Meanwhile, construction, one of the least digitized industries globally, is struggling to adapt.

CBDCs for SDGs is a master’s thesis exploring ‘central bank digital currency’ (CBDCs), an emerging technology currently researched by 90% of the world’s central banks. Explained simply, one could think of it as a digital alternative to the physical cash produced by central banks, a public alternative to the electronic money in our private banks, or as a crypto-inspired national digital currency. Through strategic design, the project shows how CBDCs could enable new kinds of policies to achieve ‘the sustainable development goals’ (SDGs) in Norway.

ZocDoc's purpose is to empower patients to be more engaged and empowered with their healthcare planning and decision-making.ZocDoc is a digital platform that provides patients unprecedented access to healthcare. ZocDoc's core feature, online booking, enables patients to find great doctors who take their insurance, view those doctors' availability online, and instantly book an appointment with the doctors they choose.ZocDoc goes even further by providing tools that empower patients to complete their medical/registration forms online, make follow-up appointments, and manage their ongoing health care. Whereas most healthcare technologies focus on building software for physicians and often treat the patient user experience as an afterthought, ZocDoc's focus is on making the entire patient-doctor relationship easier, more transparent, and above all more patient-centric.In fact, the driving philosophy behind ZocDoc's design is "Patients First". The goal is to transform how we think about healthcare by, for the first time ever, putting patients truly in control.

Filling out a form is one of life’s little hassles. Whether it’s a paper permission slip or a health questionnaire found online, the task of filling in the same fields over and over is time-consuming and error-prone.

The End of the Day is a public audio installation that can only be played at sunset. It’s a guided audio experience about a moment many years from now, when you are looking back and reflecting on a life well-lived –about reclaiming a good future as a brave and hopeful act.
