ZocDoc's core feature, online booking, enables patients to find great doctors who take their insurance, view those doctors' availability online, and instantly book an appointment with the doctors they choose.ZocDoc goes even further by providing tools that empower patients to complete their medical/registration forms online, make follow-up appointments, and manage their ongoing health care. Whereas most healthcare technologies focus on building software for physicians and often treat the patient user experience as an afterthought, ZocDoc's focus is on making the entire patient-doctor relationship easier, more transparent, and above all more patient-centric.In fact, the driving philosophy behind ZocDoc's design is "Patients First". The goal is to transform how we think about healthcare by, for the first time ever, putting patients truly in control.

Today businesses need to make strategic decisions on the fly. Faced with the constant need to adjust plans, reshuffle priorities or reassign employees, they need a way to capture the big picture of what makes their business successful: What resources they have available, and how are they utilized? What is their current and projected workload? Which projects are profitable and on track? Are we taking advantage of the individual talents of teams and matching them to the right projects? How do I keep my creative workers inspired and motivated? How do I give them independence and autonomy, while keeping my finger on the pulse of the business? Current tools either address one aspect of the business or focus on the tactical details, failing to provide this big picture.10,000ft is a design-inspired resource collaboration web application that allows dynamic organizations and the creative thinkers they employ to get a big-picture view of the business, their teams and their projects. The result is a unique ability to make strategic decisions based on real-time, complex data, increased autonomy and independence, and ultimately, more opportunities to innovate.

Chat messages, emails, websites, books… digitally written text is ever present in our daily life. But those neatly arranged letters hide secrets. Who wrote them and how? Did they hesitate? Was it a furious typing spree fuelled by a wave of emotions? Or did they carefully choose every word, deleting and retyping them over and over?

The Inc. 5000 Marketplace is a virtual world created for the Inc. 5000 Vision Conference where attendees could meet other attendees, share ideas and make lasting connections. The Marketplace is the first-of-its-kind, virtual experience specially themed for the conference.We integrated Inc. 5000’s history of honoring the fastest-growing private companies in America by designing the world around a fictitious Main Street, the heart of the Marketplace. Here, honorees from all over the country converged to walk the red carpet, play a round of golf, socialize at the virtual bar, take pictures at the art gallery and challenge one another with social games at the recreation center.The Marketplace combines the beauty of the real world, walking down the street with a friend chatting, with the power of a virtual world — where people from all over can immediately be present and explore. We achieve this through playful design, integrating game technologies and enabling all attendees to participate.Honorees poured glasses of bubbly at home and then joined in the fun with their live-streaming avatars. They bumped into friends on Main Street, popped into the local art gallery to add their photos to a mosaic, and wandered into the local bar to play trivia quizzes together. Finally, honorees stopped by the Inc. 5000 theater to celebrate each other’s accomplishments with a group photo. The challenge was to successfully create a virtual version of attending an event, where chance meetings and side conversations make the night that much more fun and interesting.

Living in developed countries with superior infrastructures and seemingly unlimited access to the ubiquitous things, we tend to forget: resources are not infinite and need to be taken care of. Current smart home solutions for regulating and optimizing consumption give little to no information to the user on their behavior and routine. Although every device in our home is a data touchpoint, hardly any of this is reflected in our living space, where we most need it.

How might we use sound to guide visually impaired parents through the bottle-feeding process and make them more independent in raising their children? For blind or visually impaired parents preparing a baby bottle is one of the hardest things to do. For preparing these bottles most of these parents rely on the help of others.

ReadyForZero is a free, online financial program that helps people get out of debt. It automatically pulls in all their financial data, helps them make a plan, and tracks their progress as they change their financial behavior for the better. The tool focuses on using research-based, data-driven, and user-tested design to empower people. It takes an aging industry of debt relief and applies new technology to make both people and banks happier.

MyMachine DreamsDrop is a brand-new complimentary program, turning our inter-generational co-design methodology into a cross-border collaboration: it's an online world map that invites anyone (adults and children alike) to upload their dream machine idea. In addition, we run an annual open call to primary school teachers to join their class, combined with a call to university professors to participate with their students.

The HP Live UI: App-Assisted Printer Setup is the UX design for an app assisted and guided set-up experience for HP printers as part of the larger HP Smart App. The app-assisted printer setup instructions were developed to guide users, step-by-step, in loading paper, installing ink, and additional tasks by utilizing detailed 2D animations and translated instructions—a big improvement over printed instructions which only provide static illustrations. This new UX provides a robust instructional experience, eliminating ambiguity and potential frustration for users during printer setup. It also presents the OS-detected language, so users don't have to search for their particular text translation.

With a brief to explore innovations in the area of space design and placemaking, we decided to look at low-cost and low-entry-barrier solutions that would allow us to engage the local population in public consultations.
