Sharks are majestic creatures that have, unfortunately, received a bad reputation. The Shark Sense VR exhibit was designed to challenge visitors to aquariums to see the world from a shark’s perspective and discover just how incredible these animals are. Based on the principles of experiential learning – the understanding that we are all able to better grasp concepts, and learn and retain information when we experience things firsthand – the experience is designed as an immersive virtual reality game.

In established professional sports, technology often seems like an afterthought, applied like a band-aid, forgotten entirely, or employed in unimaginative ways. Early this April, a start-up league called the National Pro Grid League approached Cooper with a new challenge – to help them introduce a new sport that has integrated technology from the start. Cooper has been worked closely with the NPGL to design the fan experience, through interactive tools, infographics and Jumbotron graphics.

We collaborated with pro riders to create never-before-seen digital skate experiences. What came out of it changed the way skaters participate in the world’s biggest action sport.

Money isn’t a number, it’s the way through which we express our liberty as an individual. Thus, it comes as no surprise then, that there is an indisputable link between mental health and financial literacy. Yet less than 50% of adults living with autism in the UK have any control over how their money is managed. But why is this so?

Long before I decided to study multimedia design, I had a strong interest in the intricate nature of fractal structures. Years later, I decided to give it another try with all the knowledge about design and especially user interfaces and interaction I had earned. A major challenge was to find a balance between enabling graphical complexity versus reducing interface complexity. The mathematics and algorithms behind Iterazer have lots of dependencies and meaningful settings, but I strived to focus on the central aspect of what appaled to me the most - the graphical patterns emerging from interaction. Iterazer enables people to harness graphical complexity in a novel, very intuitive and compelling way. Another challenge was to find a way to handle the generated images in a way that felt natural and differ from the files, folders and lists used by today’s applications.

Every 30 seconds, someone in the US is hospitalized for heart failure. Once admitted to the hospital, there is an extremely high probability sufferers will be readmitted within the first 30 days of discharge. The disease becomes a steep downward slope from which patients struggle to gain control in their life and lifestyle.

Upstyle is an image-assisted text-to-image AI tool that empowers users to design fashion pieces with greater precision. By leveraging the GenAI power, users can conveniently discover and generate fashion styles from a well-organized archive and the trained AI model, which eliminates common user hassles like extensive browsing, downloading, and uploading efforts. Upstyle, has the potential to revolutionize sustainable fashion design by creating a streamlined circular ecosystem focused on smooth and cost- effective customization processes.

Programming is intimidating. Common programming stereotypes involve sitting at a computer looking at lines of dense symbols and code. This perception discourages people, particularly children, from learning programming.Dr. Wagon dispels these impressions and facilitates a new way to learn programming that is interactive and concrete. Dr. Wagon was designed for children ages 6-12, and is intended to provide children with a playful and more accessible introduction to computer programming.

Designed for portable, uninterrupted monitoring during in-hospital transport and at the bedside, IntelliVue X3 provides an intuitive smart-phone-style operation that quickly and easily enables continuous monitoring during transport for the most critical patients.

But for a child, that’s not actually true, everything has to be discovered from the start. Today, urban children are spending time indoors more than ever before. Parents and educators are concerned that young children are not using their senses actively and don’t have enough possibilities for explorative learning. Current play experiences invite children to look at new, fictional worlds, which causes them to stop using their wild imaginations. With this project I wanted to ask, instead of providing new things for children to look at, what if we could equip the children with new ways to see and explore the world with?
