thirteen23 was approached to design and develop the mobile strategy for Barack Obama's 2012 bid for re-election. Working with Obama for America, the team crafted an ambitious set of mobile applications designed to support Obama's large base of campaign volunteers and grassroots supporters. Instead of creating a simple brochure application outlining the President's policies, the team focused on creating a real-time mobile solution to aid campaign organizers and volunteers working in the field.

Tutkihankintoja.fi is a service that allows citizens, companies, and interest groups to explore the Finnish government spending. It provides information on state spending for goods, supplies, and services down to the purchase order level. For the first time, all this information is available in an online service. Tutkihankintoja.fi improves transparency in the use of public funds and provides information on the market to companies.

Soundline is a playful, social, sonic intervention which aims to investigate the potential for technology to influence the future of entertainment and the facilitation of the state of group flow within these spaces. Turning an “error” within the festival experience, into an opportunity for play and creative exploration, this roaming performance creates an environment that invites audiences to engage through music, dance and performance.

For centuries people around the Swedish lake Storsjön have talked about a mysterious lake monster called Storsjöodjuret. Since the 19th century hundreds of observations have been documented and there are even more unofficial testimonies. For a few years the monster was even on the Swedish list of protected species. There have been many attempts to catch or convincingly photograph the animal, but none of them have succeeded.

Every summer, a team of scientists from Queen Mary University travels to Cape Verde where they deploy sensors and trackers on nesting loggerhead turtles, to track them and understand their complex and mysterious behavioral patterns as they return to the ocean. The scientists came to Wolf In Motion to help make the complex data gained from the turtles more usable and understandable.

21 Balancoires (21 Swings) is an urban scale collective instrument, a game where together we achieve better things than separately. The installation consists of a series of 21 musical swings. When in motion, each swing triggers different notes. When used all together, the swings compose a musical piece in which certain melodies emerge only through cooperation. It's a game where, from the start, you need to adjust to the actions of others.The notes that are played are determined by how high a person swings. The color of the swing indicates the instrument it plays: piano, harp, guitar, vibraphone. The instruments are distributed differently within each set of three swings to create different musical configurations.When multiple swings move in synchronicity, a mini scale is played, revealing more notes and melodies. When all swings are in use, a secret musical mode is activated to give a special reward to players a synthesizer sound plays on all swings and transforms the experience.The result is a giant collective instrument that stimulates ownership of the space, bringing together people of all ages and backgrounds, and creating a place for playing and exchanging in the middle of the city center.

As a society multitasking on Smartphones increasingly, the way we communicate, shop, bank, watch TV and work has been transformed. Despite many benefits over traditional analogue tools, some are frustrated by the inefficiency of certain tasks and the inefficiency of moving between apps, interrupting flow and increasing the cognitive load of simple tasks. As you leave the app you are working in, your attention is focused on distracting menu systems instead of the task at hand. The average person uses 25 apps per week and one in five times they use a device, they open at least three of those apps.

Grin is a comprehensive digital/physical orthodontic platform that provides remote monitoring solutions to bring patients the convenience and responsible care they've come to expect while keeping licensed, local orthodontists at the center of their treatment.With the Grin platform, orthodontists can overcome the current challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic by strengthening existing patient relationships and reducing chair time by virtually reaching into their patients' mouths as if they were present for an in-person appointment.

FiDO is a circular physical interface connected with a mobile app, which is a plug-in to different semi-autonomous vehicles. FiDO collects driver data and traffic information to give personal recommendations. Consequently, drivers can provide active feedback by rotating FiDO during their drive. This entire process is represented in purple and blue gradients to communicate what the vehicle is processing.
