100 BPM is a concept that helps to save lives by greatly increasing the success rate of administering compression-only CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) to an adult after a cardiac arrest. It does this by giving the rescuer tangible and intuitive feedback through sound and light, for the two most important factors for the success of the procedure: compression depth and frequency of the compression. 100 BPM uses light to create a depth scale illustrating compression depth, and a 100 BPM beat for the user to follow. Sound is used not only to guide the rescuer to administer 100 BPM compressions, but to also manage the stress and emotional stages the rescuer experiences over time.100 BPM comprises of a comfortable central silicone coated pad (housing the main electronic components), through which the compressions are given. This pad sits on a larger fabric base, interwoven with LEDs. The product uses the surface area surrounding the rescuer's hands as an interface space, which is easily visible when in use. Rows of LEDs form an intuitive depth scale surrounding the hands and illuminate in yellow (for too shallow), green (for correct depth) or red (for too deep).

We Remember invites visitors to tell their 9/11 stories as part of the permanent collection of the 9/11 Memorial Museum. Visitors to the site enter a sound-proof booth, locate themselves on a world map and record and contribute their stories for use in the introductory exhibition of the permanent museum opening in 2012. These stories are also used to make the Explore 9/11 iPhone application, a mobile guide that features a seven stop walking tour of the area around the World Trade Center, accompanied by audio and photo narration, as well as an augmented reality mode in which photos from the site overlay the phone’s current camera view.

Philips Pediatric Coaching is a holistic coaching solution to prepare and guide children (ages 4 to 8) for an MRI scan. It consists of a gamified mobile app to prepare children at home; an educational toy scanner to prepare kids in the waiting room; and guidance in the bore of the MRI scanner. All solution elements feature the same buddy characters (Ollie & friends) & design elements, as well as the same voice, so kids are consistently guided from home to the scanner. The app has been co-created with clinical experts and psychologists and features educational videos, interactive games, information for parents, and an Augmented Reality-experience.

The augmented reality gaming app reveals artwork from Lego assemblies built by the children. In this first experiment, we explore the De Stijl art movement through three unique art pieces.

UFOcus addresses the challenges faced by students, particularly those with attention disorders, in a traditional classroom setting. It proposes an interactive and participatory learning system for Primary and middle School classrooms. Using light signals, projections and sound cues to guide students through different stages of the lesson, ensuring they remain attentive and aware of their progress. Each student has access to tokens and tiles, allowing them to actively participate, answer questions, and engage with peers at appropriate times. The system also introduces ice-breaking activities and de-stressing games, encouraging both mental and physical involvement.

Similar to how GPS technology helps people to navigate physical infrastructure, the IBM Cloud Infrastructure Visualizer maps out virtual network infrastructure and converts it into an interactive map. This birds-eye view allows users to visualize how resources are interconnected, how are they configured, and suggests actions to take in case something isn’t working as expected. With this tool, IT Administrators will no longer be stuck navigating their virtual infrastructure and instead, they can focus their energies on other tasks that require their technical expertise more and bring value to their enterprises.
